Regarding relocating, no two moves are the same, so questions always pop up. Here are some Moving FAQs that we have been asked about:
WHAT AREAS DO YOU SERVE? DO YOU PROVIDE LONG DISTANCE MOVING SERVICES?
At Funk’s Moving, we serve Western Canada from British Columbia to Manitoba. Our primary service area is the Edmonton metropolitan area, including Edmonton, St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Leduc, Fort Saskatchewan, Vegreville, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Beaumont, Morinville, and Devon. Additional mileage charges may apply for jobs outside of these areas.
Funk’s Moving & Storage maintains a full-time crew of experienced professional movers and does not subcontract any moving jobs. If we need extra help, we have a roster of reliable long-term temporary workers to call on.
Yes, Funk’s Moving & Storage offers complete packing and unpacking services–feel free to leave all the work to us! Packing and unpacking services cost time and materials.
Yes. We can arrange short or long-term storage for your possessions in a secure heated warehouse with our storage partners. We will handle all the details and save you the hassle of dealing with a separate storage company. All Funk’s Moving & Storage clients receive a 5% discount on storage rates.

It is excellent to understand the typical questions asked when dealing with a move, but other things to remember are cost, insurance and more. Here are some additional questions and answers that will hopefully shed some light:
Yes, all our estimates are free of charge. At Funk’s Moving & Storage, we pride ourselves on accurate estimates, but a quote is only as good as the information provided to us by the customer. In-home estimates allow the customer and service provider to meet and offer the best chance to get an accurate and comprehensive understanding of your moving needs.
We charge an hourly rate for local moves based on the number of movers required. You only pay for the time we are on the job (to the nearest half-hour). A minimum of three hours, including travel time, is charged on each job.
Additional mileage charges apply for long-distance moves. To request an estimate, fill out our Estimate Request form or give us a call at 780-468-7052.
All jobs are subject to a fuel surcharge, any supplies used, and 5% GST. Additional charges apply for oversized items such as pianos, pool tables, and large televisions. All other costs are included in your estimate.
Funk’s Moving & Storage is fully insured and has WCB employee coverage. Details of our insurance coverage are available on request.
All moving jobs include liability of up to $0.60 per pound per article for damaged items. It is important to note that this rate is likely insufficient to cover most items’ replacement costs. Check with your Insurance Agent to see if your existing household policy covers things during your move. If not, you may wish to purchase additional coverage. Funk’s Moving & Storage does not offer any extra insurance coverage.
