Our Residential Moving Process
At Funk’s Moving, we realize we are moving more than just boxes. We know that home is where the heart is, and we take this responsibility very seriously. Our movers are highly trained and motivated, and we offer an award-winning service that is unmatched in the industry.
- Arrival & First Walk-Through
Our movers will arrive on time with clean, fully equipped commercial moving trucks. Our packing equipment includes padding, shrink wrap, tools, and more. We will also conduct our first (of three) walk-throughs of your home. We will perform a room-by-room review with you to:
- Get an understanding of what we will (or will not) be moving
- Determine a necessary order of how we will perform the move
- Identify any items that require special attention or have any pre-existing damage
- Confirm that the estimate provided previously is correct
Once the agreement is signed, we will begin prepping your home to move.
2. Preparation
This not only helps our movers work safely and efficiently but also protects your home from potential damage from moving large items. We also remove doors or set up door jambs to keep entryways clean and protected, allowing us to move your appliances.
3. Protection
We protect your possessions during transit by padding and shrink-wrapping all delicate items. Our movers arrive with tools to disassemble and reassemble furniture for a complete move. We understand that your belongings are important to you, so our movers go above and beyond to protect them.
4. Second Walk-Through
Our team performs a second walk-through before we leave your current home (the one you are moving from) to make sure:
- Everything in your home has been removed and placed in the truck
- We have not left any tools, hardware, or any other belongings behind
- We are ready to go to the new location
5. Unloading & Final Walk-Through
Once your belongings are unloaded and placed in the requested areas of your new home, we will complete a final walk-through. The final walk-through allows the following:
- Complete assembly of all items or furniture and place them in the exact location you request
- Clean up your home and make sure all of our pads and materials are removed
- Answer any final questions
6. Completion
Once everything is complete, we will review the contract, finalize all paperwork, and process the payment. Trust Funk’s Moving & Storage to help take the stress out of your move and quickly get you into your new home! Contact us and see why we are one of the top-rated moving companies in Edmonton.
Funk’s Moving & Storage will disassemble the bed and all necessary furniture and reassemble it at the new location.
We suggest leaving only clothing in drawers. Everything else should be emptied and packed.
Blankets, stretch wrap and bubble wrap are included in your service for all furniture. Extra protection, such as mattress covers, additional boxes, and paper, can be purchased at the time of service.
